SUMMARY: The aim of this text is twofold. On one hand, it is an orderly and adequate introduction to linear algebra, mainly for students having poor background in mathematics. Basic facts are presented along with many solved numerical exercises. Proofs are rarely provided, only if we feel that the proof itself contributes significantly to the understanding of the result and suggests ways for its application. Missing proofs can be found in the works listed in the Bibliography. On the other hand, beyond Chapter 6 the text becomes more subtle, more challenging, more entertaining and the discussion includes more formal proofs.
